The following events are in chronological order:
Friday, Oct 26 – a Genealogy class led by Carol Smemoe, an expert in tracing family histories. She will be sharing her sources and info with us. Sign up at the MSD.
Saturday, Oct 27 – last VFW breakfast for this year! Y’all come and enjoy.
Wednesday, October 31 – the Hootin’ Halloween Health Fair. Venders will be set up in the foyer, the Rec Room, possibly the Timmy & Cindy Room. You are encouraged to wear costumes, not mandatory, but which ever you choose, come and have a fun, informative day.
Friday, November 2 – Our first (hopefully 1st of many) “Give Back Bingo” event. It will begin at 12 noon on Nov. 2 and last till 2:15 p.m. This will help those who do not drive at night to participate as well as those who ride the Pelivan. We are asking you to each bring either 5 items of canned or boxed food roughly $5 worth (non-perishable food) or $5 to go to the Food Bank. We hope to continue the “Give Back Bingo” on the 1st Friday of every other month. This will get us through the holidays and ready to play Bingo come January. It all depends on your participation and our ability to get prizes. Right now your part is to begin telling your friends, neighbors, and families so we can fill up the Rams room and enjoy two fun filled hours of Bingo.
Nov 5-9 – Veterans Day falls on a Sunday this year, so the preceding week will be busy with veteran’s appreciation events, including a “Meet-and-Greet” breakfast at the center on Thursday Nov 8th, from 8-10 am. Wednesday, Nov 7 – Triad Eye Clinic will be at the center doing free eye screenings. You can sign up at the MSD.
Friday, Nov 16 – Pot Luck, the ever-popular turkey dinner. Plan to come and enjoy.
Friday, Nov 16 – AARP Safe Driver course—Nov 17 – a repeat class, by popular demand. Ron Bray, instructor.
Thursday & Friday, Nov 22-23 – Owasso Community Center closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy being with your friends and families!!!!!
